My first visit with my new puppy was pleasant and easy. Both the assistant and the veterinarian were carting and gentle with her. Epperson veterinarian services is a clean and welcoming environment.

I’ve given Epperson Vet multiple chances, but I can’t recommend them. Every visit feels cold and transactional. My pup—a gentle giant—was never greeted warmly or made to feel at ease. It’s heartbreaking when your pet is treated like a number, not a companion.

They’re also very expensive, and anytime I’ve asked about pricing, I’ve been met with judgment rather than transparency or empathy. I understand vet care can be costly, but kindness shouldn’t be.

If you’re looking for a place that treats your pet like family and respects your concerns, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

My family had taken their dogs here for years while the former vet (an older gentleman) was operating the business. All was well before and pricing was reasonable.
However, a few years ago two very negative instances occurred, one with our dog and one with my cat. For my cat, we called on a Saturday to ask if they had any availability, and were given the green light to come on in. This sounds wonderful, however things quickly took a turn for the worst. My cat was very fearful and when they took her to the back for a blood draw, an injury occurred to one of the staff members. Afterwards, the Dr told me that they were going to call animal control and have my cat confiscated. As an 18 year old, I was very worried and appalled that they would threaten to call after I brought her in out of caution. Granted, my cat could have been better behaved, but I would have agreed to sedation if necessary, also she was vaccinated. $600+ later and worrying about animal control taking my cat does should not be the outcome for anybody. If I knew they would have charged as much as the Emergency clinic, I would have taken my cat there instead with more specialized staff.
The next negative experience with our dog was so ridiculous, it’s actually comical. Conversing about cleaning the dog’s ears, which he despises and is 180 lbs, my mother explained that she likes to “sit” on his back to contain him and clean his ears. What she should have said was “hover” or “squat” but Dr Swizer I believe it was became very judgmental and said something along the lines of “I can’t believe you sit on your dog” and when my sister tried to explain what our mother meant, she just walked out of the room. Again, it’s almost comical because of how the situation escalated from an offhand comment.
I’m sure there are better vets employed here by now, and hope that nobody has similar experiences here again.

we have never experienced such bad service. they were all acting like my dog was aggressive and she is not. they were also choking her. the vet herself was very rude in the tone she was using towards us. i do not recommend this place to anyone! do not go here.

Avoid this place like the plague. The front desk staff and techs were fine, but Dr. Switzer is an absolute nightmare. Rude, arrogant, and completely condescending — exactly what all the bad reviews warned about. I should’ve listened, but now I know firsthand she’s a total joke of a vet. Walking ego with zero respect for clients. Total cxnt
